INNERPLANES

Elemental Plane of Water

Coralelia. Skyhome's counterpart of sorts on the plane of water, is located on and in an asteroid like chunk of elemental earth. Coralelia is actually almost two cities; on the surface and somewhat in the interior are a number of crystalline domes that house a vibrant city of humans, elves, bariaur, and other air breathing races. Outside the domes are a number of aquatic races who inhabit the realm, mainly mermen, locathah, aquatic elves, and tritons (though Da Soochans and Quarren are starting to appear).

Coralelia is a vibrant trading city, where air-breathers and water-breathers come to meet for trade and diplomacy. Coralielia itself produces many products, notably pearls, pearl shells, coral, and a great variety of seafood. Strangely though, owing to the nearly all water environment of the plane of water (there is no surface), not all fish species thrive here, nor can sea mammals (which must breathe air) function. As a consequence, Coralelia carries on trade with oceans and coastal nations on prime material worlds, notably at this time Rohe, Brun, and Kulu. Like Skyhome, they welcome interplanar trade and diplomatic relations.

Unique to Coralelia are their Vernons, submarine like vehicles that can open their own gate and travel all of the Inner Planes, but are unable to get off the Inner Planes themselves (and so far their gateopening ability does not work off the inner planes). Quite rare, they facilitate trade and defense. They can travel on the prime material plane, but must rely on conventional stargates.

Sahugal. Poorly known realm ruled over by the sahuagin, far from the City of Glass and Coralelia and an enemy to both. Travelers are rarely welcome.

Ammonite. Not so much a realm as a moving "fleet," Ammonite refers to a group of twenty or so slow moving island sized giant nautilus (squid-like creatures in spiral shells), upon which other life forms live upon. The creatures, called Golden Ammonites, are intelligent, elegant, graceful thinkers, and eternally cruise the endless waters of the elemental plane of water. They tolerate the lifeforms that live upon them, mostly disciples seeking knowledge from the Golden Ammonites, and creatures come to provide them services (the acolytes). Obviously, they are all water breathers.

The Triton Empire. The Tritons are native the elemental plane of water, and those that don't live in Coralelia, the City of Glass, or the Citadel of Ten Thousand Pearls - the majority - live here. A series of chunks of earth or mineral, linked by graceful spans of corals or verdant kelp forests, many millions of triton live here. They live in graceful cities, comprised of stone, marble, coral, and crystal, where they raise schools of fish, hippocampi, study philosophy, and engage in trade. Along with the marids, they are the major native race on this plane.

Non-tritons are welcome, even though they may feel patronized by this elder race.

Elemental Plane of Earth.

Darby's Lick. A dwarven-controlled realm, established by dwarves from Oerth many years ago. Small but very well-defended, several hundred dwarves have a comfortable life here, mining, smelting, forging, and producing works of great beauty for trade. However, they clash with the dao from time to time, and Darby's Lick might have fallen long ago had it not been for the fact that dao from time to time need the services of skilled dwarven craftsmen.

Travelers are welcome in Darby's Lick, provided they don't mind doing hard work to earn their keep, and be prepared to defend the city in case dao or worse attack.

Moletoi. Or Land of the Mole Men, is a realm of creatures native to the plane of earth (or perhaps been here for millenia). The Moletoi (same name for race as for realm) are really small, hairy gnomelike creatures, that have poor eyesight and rely more on hearing and sense of smell. A peaceful realm, they simply for the most part wish a peaceful life, devoted to families, good food, drink, social gatherings, and reading the occasional good book. Unfortunately, they have to deal with the bother of interplanar trade (and the occasional dao scare), and so are forced to interact with others. Most often they are encountered in Darby's Lick or in Azeraak's Realm, but once in a while one can be found in Skyhome.

Abatwa. Home of a race of humans who have apparently lived here thousands of years, the Abatwa. They have thoroughly adapted to life on the plane of earth, but in a way strange to primes - they have domesticated giant ants, who build the tunnels and rooms the Abatwa live in, guard them from harm, and aid in growing food in the fungus gardens. A strange realm, the Abatwa are alien to primes. Trade is welcome, though most traders prefer the Abatwa meet them off plane or at least somewhere else on the elemental plane of earth.

Elemental Plane of Fire:

Azaraf is the main city of the azer, a race of dwarf-like beings who are native to the plane of elemental fire. A fortress of formidable defenses, as the efreet have often raided the azer to provide slaves. Considering the effreet have over 200,000 troops, this is a difficult task.

The azer have an exlusive trading relationship with Skyhome, with the azer providing weapons, metals, gems, worked stone, colored glass, and weapons and Skyhome providing a variety of foods, luxury goods, and a refuge in times when the efreet prove a massive danger.

Para-elemental Plane of Ice

Rimeberg. The principal city of the ice elves, a race native to the para-elemental plane of ice. Known to the people of Faerun from their warring under Cryonax, the ice elves of this realm are less under that power's sway. The ice elves here are not evil, but they are not the most friendly either; neutral would be the best description of their overall attitude.

The principal reason Rimeberg exists appears to be to facilitate trade of eternal ice with Skyhome and other mortals. Even at its native source, eternal ice is not common and quite expensive.

Frosthaven. Home to the Barbegazi, a race of good-aligned gnome-like beings. Much hated by Cryonax (an evil power), the Barbegazi have sought to foil the Prince of Evil Cold Creatures whereever possible, and have often aided clueless planewalkers (and even the not-so-cluless) escape from his clutches. The Barbegazi would be active off plane more than they are, except they are beings of cold, and start to melt at room temperature (obviously Frosthaven is a very cold realm). The Barbegazi are only too happy to sell what eternal ice they mine, but cannot match the resources of Rimeberg.
