Serving God Through The Gifts He Provided

Student Sheet

This next Sunday you will be given a personal spiritual gifts evaluation. A spiritual gift is a "manifestation of the Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:7) It is not a special ability you develop on your own. You do not seek a spiritual gift. It is a gift given to you as a believer by God to serve the church. Obviously, you cannot have a complete study of the spiritual gifts in one week. You will be able to discover your gifts and to see areas that you can use those gifts at First Baptist.

Scripture related to spiritual gifts:

S.E.R.V.E. stands for:

Spiritual gifts: those gifts God gives through His Holy Spirit to empower you for service.
Experiences: those unique, significant events God allows which mold you into who you are today.
Relational style: behavioral traits God uses in how you relate to others.
Vocational skills: those abilities you have gained through training and experience which you can use in service to God.
Enthusiasm: that passion God has put in your heart for certain ministry areas.

A spiritual gift is an expression of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers which empowers them to serve the body of Christ, the church. .
