Fuel Tank
Although the old retro-metal tank is cool, I wanted a slightly more modern look with more capacity than the old tank. I ordered a “universal” fuel tank from Clarke Manufacturing.  This tank is designed to fit old IT’s, YZ’s, KTM’s, and TT/XT’s among other things.  The tank installs easily and seems to be well made. Full access to the dipstick is retained.  The letters are red vinyl from a craft store. This tank is trick!

Exhaust
The exhaust pipe is from White Brothers. I had it on my old TT500 years ago. This pipe makes a DRAMATIC gain in performance! The look is also MUCH better than the stock low-pipe. I use the stock spark arrestor which bolted right up. It sounds great but is pretty loud with no muffler! I plan to install a Supertrapp muffler soon.  The Unifilter eliminated a jetting problem caused by the White Brothers pipe.

Intake
The airbox was eliminated in favor of a Unifilter clamped to the stock carburetor. A K&N crankcase filter was installed since the connection from the crankcase to the airbox is now.  I have an old 38mm Mikuni carb…maybe someday.

Engine
The engine is bone stock for now. I’d like to install the White Brothers 540cc stroker kit and competition cam someday. The stock engine is very strong and responsive.
