"Just
as the physical body has many attributes, so it also is with
the spirit. Although its form is an exact duplicate of the personality
of the physical body, the actual physical traits are non-existent.
The spirit body replicates the innermost state-of-being as experienced
and reflected in physical existence. The emotions and intentions
of the physical body closely link to the overall nature of the
transcendent spirit.
Consider that the spirit body is the aspect of the human existence
beyond the logical processes of the brain, and one begins to
understand the abstract nature of spirit. However, since logical
thought processes are constantly at work in the physical brain,
it affects how one views the subtle body of spirit. Since the
spirit body is subtle substance and energy that reflects personality
traits, it will sometimes appear to be a replica of the physical
body with all its bodily attributes. This is especially true
when a person attaches strong emotion to aspects of physical
existence.
This subtle body of energy appears to many in various ways.
Yet, when a person consciously travels by spirit, more often
than not, they will not be aware of any body. Still, it is inevitable
that one will eventually glimpse upon a perception of the spirit
body. It appears to each in different ways. As we know, a person’s
emotional attachments, as well as the religious and moral values
of which one firmly clings, influences how one views this subtle
body. Some people see a double or twin of the entire physical
body. Others see it as a sphere of light energy, while still
others describe their spirit body as ghostly and transparent,
sometimes appearing fluid and. . ."
