What does
it mean?
What does it actually mean to Astral Travel
or to have an out of body experience? Is it illusion as many
believe? Is it a sleeping disorder, a malfunction of the part
of our brain that produces sleep paralysis to keep us from acting
out our dreams? Or is it really our natural God given ability
to gain knowledge from sources not of the physical world?
All these questions have occupied the minds
of many for ages. I have a strong suspicion that only those
who actually travel astrally know the beginnings of answers
to these questions, and the rest look at us oddly.
To fully understand what an out of body experience
is one must first have the experience. However, understanding
the relationship between astral projection and the physical
body and its memory retention is of great importance. After
all, the only thing left of a projection or out of body experience
is the memory of it once it is over, other than the fact than
many people experience great changes in their personal belief
systems when much time is spent on the astral planes, whether
by choice or not. Therefore, one key ingredient of astral projection
is memory, and memory can be enhanced by keeping an ongoing
journal of the experiences,
no matter how trivial the experience may seem. When referring
back to such a journal it is surprising the sudden insights
that will become obvious.
Basically, in a nut shell, astral travel or
out of body experiences are levels of existence at a higher
frequency (vibration) than our known physical world. It's the
ability to transfer your awareness from one point of existence
(the physical world) to another (the astral levels) by raising
ones frequency or vibration level. Though it is rare, some people
experience this spontaneously through no effort of their own
and retain all the memories from the experience, while most
are not even aware of it at all.
The astral levels are invisible and undetectable
to the normal five senses and to all scientific means at our
disposal. But think about it: light, gravity, x-ray, heat, microwave,
oxygen these all occupy the same space at the same time
in the physical universe without interfering with each other.
So do these different astral levels exist in the same space
at the same time. These astral levels are nonspacial and for
the most part. Spending time there, one feels as though they
are but a single point of consciousness. I prefer to call myself
an observer while there, as most of my time spent on these levels
is spent observing events taking place.
I experience very little interaction with other
travelers I encounter along the way; however, the times I do
interact with others, I have found that it's an interaction
with spirits or those who have crossed over permanently, and
that I am assisting them in some way, or communicating with
them through telepathic means for some reason or another.
To sum it up here, for now, I personally feel
that God has given us each this ability so that we may explore
those realms and learn to communicate and navigate there before
we make the final transition. As I've stated, I've had the ability
to visit these realms from a very early age, but after my near
death experience, the process has become much more clear and
much more often. I no longer fear death as I once did. Rather
I embrace the transition and pray that I'm fully aware as the
transition takes place. The reason I feel this way, and suspect
some others do as well, is because of the sheer peace, love,
and pure state of knowing and vividly aware state of existing
on that level. To fully understand the comforts of the astral
levels, one must visit there. Once one has
but a taste of the lack of pain, the knowing, the love, one
will "naturally" return to it often.
