 | 8/20/03 - Happy Birthday
Kieran!!!
 | What a great present! Kieran just had his third tooth (top right) cut
through today. |
| We had a wonderful time at his first first birthday party. (as opposed
to his second first birthday party later this week). Only family
came over today (because it's a weekday) and we had cake and presents.
Kieran ate cake and ice cream for the first time ever. I don't think
Kieran likes food that's too cold. |

Kieran Again... this time from everyone!
| What a great birthday party. Everyone had a great time, and we
had sooo many people here. Thanks so much for all the great gifts,
Kieran will appreciate not having to wear ALL hand-me-downs. |

- Talking more....
| Kieran said another word. "car". It sounds more like "cah"
but he definitely knows what it means. Also "boo" for Blue (Blue's
Clues). and "Ma-ma ma`ma" that's ma`ma with a stress on the first
ma. He's talking about Mama Mary. When he gets up in the
morning and from his nap he points to a little Mama Mary statue and says,
"Ma-ma Ma`ma" |

| 10/22/03 - WALKING FEET!!!
| Kieran is finally walking!!! The past few
weeks, he had been taking a step here, a step there, and then he would go
for days without trying. We were wondering when he would finally start
walking. Well, today at Abuelo's and Abuela's house, he woke up from his
nap and all of a sudden he just took off! He started walking, and kept
walking, and it was as if he finally felt confident enough and just kept
on going. He loves it! we are so proud of him! |

| 11/22/03 - 15 month checkup:
| Kieran had his checkup today and he is
doing well! He weighs 19 lbs 12 oz and is 30 1/4 inches long! The doctor
said that from this point on, he will not be gaining too much weight, but
that she can see that it's just in the genes. He's just a skinny baby like
his daddy was. |

12/01/03 - Ear
troubles...
| Our poor baby had his first ear infection -
in both ears unfortunately. He was feverish but not acting up too much at
all. We took him to the doctor anyway, since we figured he had what Spekky
had a few days ago (upper respiratory infection). He gained a few ounces
since the other day, though, and now weighs 20 lbs 4 0z. |

12/24/03 -
Christmas Fun and Blessings!
| Kieran enjoyed his 2nd Christmas Eve and
did a great job at Mass, as did his big brother. Santa came and brought
him a Blue's Clues phone, a Blue's Clues radio, a lion neopet, and a Baby
Leap Pad. Tia gave him a Veggie Tales Christmas book, Tio gave him a
sweatshirt and jeans, and Spekky gave him a Snoopy book and a "Guess How
Much I Love You?" book for his Baby Leap pad. Also, Uncle John and Aunt
Damaris gave him a cute set of toys to shake around. The boys both got
money from Ba and Dada that Mommy used to take the boys shopping with and
they bought some more fun things they like at Walmart. |

| Kieran is doing so many things now and
saying new words (to us they're words!), too. Here is a lits of things he
is saying now:

Kieran is also enjoying many foods that he loves to eat on his own:

Kieran is not very picky when it comes to eating. He even tries some
Indian foods that are spicy sometimes! However, many times he insists on
eating on his own, which makes for such a mess!!! |

wave at EVERYONE (he used to only wave at animals)

| He is also a bit rough with his brother and
cousins sometimes. He is little, but he's not defenseless. Sometimes, they
all start to run away from him because his kisses can turn into soft
bites, or he may pinch cheeks and eyes. Shame on Kieran! |

| 18-24 Months:
| 02/25/04 - Kieran had his 18 month check-up today. He is a small
and skinny little one, weighing in at only 20 lbs. 6 oz., and he is 31 and
1/4 inches tall. Even so, he is still very healthy and thriving. We are sure
that he just has Daddy's genes and will be a skinny little guy for a long
time. |
| 04/06/04 -Kieran is saying so many new words! Of course not

| 04/18/04 - Peeing already...
| before bath big brother Spencer always pees in the potty
standing up. We've been standing Kieran on a stool next to the
potty so he can get used to it, and today he peed in the potty just
like Spencer. Yay! First step done... |

| 06/15/04 - Poopin' now, too...
| With a little help and quick running by mommy, Kieran pooped in the
potty for the very first time! YAY! Now we will make sure to show him that
the poop goes in there. Have stinky diapers will travel! |

| 07/14/04 - Toddler Bed -
| Kieran has shown us that he is finally ready for his big boy bed. He
is still not that great at climbing out of it, but we figured that was
best for now so that he won't be getting out of it every night. He did
great his first nap and night in there. We are really proud of him having
adapted so quickly to it. He really is getting to be a big boy now. |

| Kieran's Favorites:
| Kieran LOVES to read!!!!!!! He grabs just about EVERY book he can
and begs us to read them over and over again. Right now his favorites
are usually Goodnight Moon, Blue's Clues books, and Lulu books. |
| Kieran loves his Dory friend. He hugs her every night right away
when he gets into bed. Of course he still loves his Snoopy pillow that
he sleeps on every night. |
| Kieran's favorite drinks are agua (water) and milk. He likes to
share in Daddy's iced tea here and there. He loves to eat macaroni and
cheese, pb&j, bananas, apples, fruit salad, peas and carrots, rice,
noodles, pizza, Gerber fruit and veggie puffs (thank heaven for those!),
grapes, and raisins. His favorite special treats are marshmallows and
M&M's (the latter are courtesy of Ba and Dada). He also loves fruit
snacks, like Wiggles snacks and Nemo snacks. |
| By far, Kieran's favorite show is The Wiggles! I think his favorites
are Captain Feathersword, Dorothy, and Jeff. He loves to dance to the
songs, as well as have Mommy be silly and sing the songs in public. |

| What Kieran knows:
| Body parts: eyes, ears, mouth, nose, head, hair, teeth,
belly, bellybutton, arm, hand, leg, foot, privates, bum, tongue, knee,
fingers, toes, armpit (he knows several of these in Spanish and Gujarati
as well). |
| Letters: K, A, O, B |
| Numbers: 1, 4, counts sometimes by mimicking up to ten. |
|
| Kieran's Jobs:
| Kieran throws out his diaper in the trash, as well as his snack
wrapper after nap. |
| Kieran puts his clothes in the hamper in the morning and before bath
in the evening. |
|
| Kieran Antics:
| Kieran is very adamant about pointing things out to Mommy and Daddy
right now. He will loudly say, "MOMMY! DADDY! MOMMY! DADDY!" and will
NOT STOP until we acknowledge him with a, "yes Kieran..." and then tell
us what he sees. |
| Kieran is VERY polite, saying "peas," and "thank you"( mouth closed
but does the sign for it). |
| For some reason, every time you say "chimney" (pointing out to it in
Blue's Clues books), Kieran laughs hysterically! |
| We'll sing, "We are gonna play Blue's Clues 'cause it's a really
great game..." and he excitedly adds, "YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and points
his index fingers up in the air. |
| You can ask Kieran a yes or no question, and when it's a yes, he'll
say, "yeah." |
| When Kieran does something wrong, like not being too kind to Avery,
he will give you this look, scrunching his eyes down and getting all
these wrinkles on his forehead. It's quite funny. |
| Kieran loves to point at things in books and have you tell him what
they are. |
|
| Milestones:
| Potty Training: Kieran is still working on the potty
training, slowly but surely. He tells us, "pee pee" after he has just
peed. He has pooped again in the potty maybe 3 more times since the last
update. He will say, "poh poh" sometimes when he has to go, but many
times he will sit there and not go. He goes in his pull-ups right
afterwards. He really does push on the potty, though. He is trying. |
| It is no longer possible to sit Kieran in a high chair in public
anymore. He will NOT accept that whatsoever. He gets very upset about
it. He doesn't really like the booster seat either. We think he just
wants to be treated like big brother Spekky in that aspect. So we have
learned to handle him in the booths at restaurants when we go out. He
definitely can't sit in a chair by himself. No way, not yet! |
| Time-Out: With the arrival of Avery and the terrible two's
around the corner, we've had to implement time out with Kieran because
of behavior issues. He does amazingly well with time-out. He calms down
SOOO quickly when we sit him in his bed in his room. He gives us the
sign with his hands that he is "all done" and he does not repeat the bad
behavior again. |

| Big Brother/Little
Brother/Middle Brother:
| As far as getting along with Spekky, Kieran has learned to defend
himself much better. Sometimes he is the one that is picking on Spekky,
pushing him or scratching him. He tries to get to Spekky sometimes by
sitting in Spekky's Elmo chair, even though Kieran has his own. They
both wrestle sometimes (they don't know what wrestling is, but they roll
around and go at it sometimes--it must be a natural thing with boys).
They chase each other around and share A LOT. Now that they have been
sharing a room, since around April, they have both gotten a lot closer.
Even though they may fight, we know that they love each other when all
is said and done. |
| Kieran has improved somewhat with his actions towards Avery. In the
beginning, he was jealous right away. He would pinch Avery, scratch him,
take his binky or bottle out, pull his blanket off, drop baby rattles on
him, pulling his socks off, or move his swing. Today, he has been much
nicer, kissing him softly, touching his hands, face, and head lightly,
and saying "agooo" to him, since he sees Mommy saying that to Avery all
the time. "Baby, Bay-ay-bee" he says. We know he loves Avery, too.
