DAGSBORO, Del. -- Margaret Ann Kirby, 85, a native of Pikeville, died Saturday at The Christiana Hospital in Newark. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Mollie Forehand and was the widow of Henry Lee Kirby.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home Chapel in Millsboro. The Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate. Burial will be in Dagsboro Redmen's Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Steven Millman of Dagsboro, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.

PIKEVILLE -- Lina Taylor Chase, 93, of 416 Forehand Road, died Saturday morning at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Homegoing services will be held tonight at 7 at Patetown Church of God. The Reverends Danny Tyndall, R.N. Williford, and Alton Childers will officiate. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Chase Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Chase was born on March 10, 1909, in Wayne County to the late Matthew and Alice Bethany Forehand Taylor. She was a Foster Grandparent at O'Berry Center for over 20 years. She was the was the oldest charter member of Patetown Church of God, having been a member for over 70 years. She taught Sunday school for 40 years, from the primary class to the adult class, and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Young People's Endeavor, and served as secretary and treasurer when needed. She currently attended United In Christ Church of Goldsboro.
She is survived by six sons, Hugh Freeman Chase and wife, Lillie Mae, of Fremont; William "Billy" Paul Chase and wife, Ruth Ann, of Suitland, Md.; James R. Chase of Goldsboro; Herman Delton Chase and wife, Ruth, of Pikeville; Johnny M. Chase and wife, LaVon, of New Mexico; and Bobby Keith Chase and wife, Paulette, of Pikeville; four daughters, Lela Grimes and husband, David, of Wilson; Eva Jenner of Henderson; Barbara Forehand and husband, Mickey, of Goldsboro; and Virginia Gaye Byrd and husband, Bob, of Fremont; one brother, Donnie Taylor of Kenly; one sister-in-law, Mattie Lee Taylor of Elizabeth City; and 31 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herman Chase, and two granddaughters, JoAnn Grimes Overbee and Vonda Chase Pennington.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to United In Christ Church, 1300 Clingman Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534; or to the charity of one's choice.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service tonight, and other times at the residence.

He was born in Wayne County and was the son of the late Matthew and Alice Forehand Taylor and was the husband of Mattie Batten Taylor. He was a warehouse manager at City Beverage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Lina Chase of Pikeville; a brother, Don Taylor of Kenly; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Batten of Carrolton, Va., and Mary Crocker of Middlesex; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Batten of Carrolton, Va., and Floyd Crocker of Middlesex.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marshall and Hilda Metts.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Twiford Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Stanley will officiate. Burial will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Chase Family Cemetery on Forehand Road near Pikeville.

Margaret Forehand Kleinert, 87, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James and Effie Bowden Forehand and was the widow of Clarence Ollie Kleinert. She was a lifetime member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, a charter member of Tops Club #1 of N.C., and the Sunshine Club.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
She is survived by one son, Tom Kleinert of Goldsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne K. and bob Wiggs of Pikeville; one sister, Lillian Forehand Jackson of Goldsboro; two grandchildren, Robert Alan Wiggs and Susan W. Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Joy Wiggs Bailes, Daniel Alan Wiggs, Laura Elizabeth Johnson, and Sarah Rachel Johnson; and a special friend, Mrs. Odell O'Neil.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

SWANSBORO — A silver voice was silenced April 25 when Hazel Forehand Midgett passed away after a lengthy battle with Lymphoma at Duke University Medical Center.
Hazel was born Aug. 4, 1930, to the late John William Forehand and Mildred Anderson Forehand.
Hazel Midgett leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of 49 years, James Alpheaus Midgett of Swansboro; daughter, Pamela Midgett Laws (Jeffrey) of Wilmington; son, Peter James Midgett (Donna) of Winnabow; brothers, William Haywood Forehand of Sun City, Ariz., and John Harold Forehand of Wilson; sister, Hilda Forehand Colbert of Greenville; and grandchildren, Joshua and Katy Laws and Chris and Andi Spicer.
Hazel Forehand Midgett loved God, her church and her family. She was a lifelong member of Swansboro United Methodist Church, the Church Choir and United Methodist Women. Hazel loved to sing and was also a member of the Crystal Coast Choral Society. She was retired from Civil Service, Camp Lejeune and was owner of the Gray Dolphin Ladies Boutique and Gift Shop in Swansboro.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Swansboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gregg McGarvey and the Rev. Bob Bauman officiating. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

He was a member of Seaside Masonic Lodge 429 A.F. & A.M. in Swansboro, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of New Bern, Orient of North Carolina, Sudan Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of New Bern and a lifetime member of Swansboro Shrine Club.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Jeffery Laws of Wilmington; his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Donna Midgett of Winnabow; his brother and sister-in-law, Leo Robert and Pat Midgett of Swansboro; and four grandchildren, Joshua and Katy Laws and Chris and Andi Spicer.
